Is Jesus Christ Really God?

Examining the Scriptures by comparing: “spiritual things with spiritual.” (I Cor. 2:13 NKJV)
SUPPORTERS OF THE BELIEF in the divinity of Christ, also known as the Christ-is-God or the God-man doctrine, assert that God exists as a trinity consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Although they are three in nature and considered distinct beings, proponents maintain that they form a single God. The concept of the Trinity lacks explicit biblical endorsement; thus, proponents often argue that it represents a profound mystery beyond human comprehension and should be accepted by faith alone. They frequently draw upon various biblical verses to underscore their position that Jesus Christ embodies the true nature of God and is God in the flesh. In this analysis, we will examine the widely and most popular cited passages used by advocates of Christ’s divinity to assess the validity of their claims in light of rigorous biblical scrutiny and expose their false understanding and misinterpretation of such passages:

“Let us make man in our own image…”

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given…”

Who The True God Is

KNOWING WHO THE true God is indispensable for the salvation of man. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself emphasized: “And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent” (Jn. 17:3, Today’s English Version). To be saved, therefore, is to know two beings, namely the true God whom Jesus identifies as the Father…

The Question On Christ's Nature

THE DOCTRINAL POSITION of the Iglesia Ni Cristo on the question of Christ’s true nature radically differs from the commonly accepted belief in His deity and dual nature. The Iglesia Ni Cristo believes that Christ is man, neither God nor God-man — as most people recognize
Him — but man…

Is Jesus Christ the True God and Creator?

SINCE THE FIRST CENTURY, true believers of Jesus have shared their faith with the apostles, affirming who the true God and Creator is and the nature of Jesus Christ. Sadly, there seems to be a collaborative effort by skeptics nowadays to portray a radically different Jesus.

The Wrong Doctrines Spawned by The Belief That Christ Is God

WHEN CATHOLIC authorities invented the doctrine that Christ is God at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, it paved the way for other erroneous doctrines to creep in…]

The Son of God is not God

THOSE WHO PREACH that the Lord Jesus Christ is God argue that since Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:20), He is God in nature or state of being. They claim that Jesus has a dual nature ― human and divine (or God) ― having been born of a human mother and being God’s only begotten Son…

Did Christ teach a Trinitarian God?

A TRUE CHRISTIAN OUGHT to be deeply concerned that the God he or she knows and worships is the God taught by Christ. After all, Christians are Christ’s disciples (Acts 11:26) —they ought to follow the teachings that He taught. Consequently, when one professes belief in a God different from the God taught by Christ, he or she, in effect, is being “unchristian.”

Are you worshiping the true God?

IF YOU CONSIDER yourself a religious person, you would most likely respond in the affirmative if asked if you are worshiping the true God. You probably believe that the divine being to whom you render religious services is the true God. However, if the God that you…

Jesus Christ God Incarnate?

PROPONENTS OF THE belief that Jesus Christ is God uphold a concept which they have termed the “Incarnation” of God. Wayne Grudem, a Protestant Theology Professor, explained this concept in his book Systematic Theology:

Is God's name 'Jehovah'?

CERTAIN RELIGIOUS organizations popularize the use of the term “Jehovah,” claiming that the said term is God’s name. They teach that a person is not righteous in God’s sight if he does not believe that Jehovah is God’s name. Is this true? Is it biblically correct to use “Jehovah” when referring to the one true God?…

Whence Came the Teaching That Christ Is True God (History)

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES is very clear in its teachings that our Lord Jesus Christ is a man in His state of being. Yet, despite these explicit teachings of the Holy Bible, the Catholic Church believes, teaches, and argues that He is the true God. It is easy…

The Fallacy of The HYPOSTATIC UNION

WHILE COUNTLESS MILLIONS of people throughout the world profess belief in Jesus, many do not have a clear conception of who Jesus really is. The vast majority claim that He is God the Son, the second person in the so-called Trinity. Others, such as the Oneness Pentecostals, claim Him to be the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then there are those who say that He was simply a great, moral teacher…

Does John 1:1 Teach That Jesus Christ Is a True God?

ALTHOUGH THE Iglesia Ni Cristo does not recognize Jesus Christ as God, we highly recognize him based on what the Bible teaches about him. The Bible teaches that God made Him as our Lord and appointed him to be our Savior (Acts 2:36; 5:31). He is our Mediator (I Timothy 2:5) and the Head of the Church (Colossians 1:18). We serve and worship him since it is God who commanded him to be worshipped (Philippians 2:9-11). However, even…

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ

ONE OF THE fundamental reasons God sent His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, was to make known to all who the true God is…

'My Father and your Father... My God and your God'

CHAPTER 20 OF THE GOSPEL according to John not only tells of Jesus Christ’s resurrection but also points out certain truths about God linked with that most sublime and significant event. In verse 17, the resurrected Jesus said to Mary Magdalene…
However, God gives humanity the chance to regain what it has lost…

A Fake Jesus

CURIOUSLY, MANY people nowadays seem to be more worried about, and more wary of, fake news than the more dangerous fake or false religious doctrines. They would rather spend precious hours fact-checking the details of secular news on current issues than pause to examine with objectivity and discernment whether their own religious doctrines have sound biblical basis or are mere human inventions.

There Is No Other God Besides Me

THE JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES, for instance, espouse the belief in a Mighty God besides an Almighty One. The Roman Catholic Church and other mainline Protestant churches maintain that God has three divine persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each one of whom is allegedly God, hence their belief in the so-called Trinity. Mormonism, meanwhile, believes in a plurality of gods…

The Council of Nicaea and the Jesus-Is-God Creed

CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANTS presume that the belief that Christ is God was upheld by the earliest followers of Jesus Christ. They think that such belief was taught and propagated by the apostles and, hence, is found in the Holy Scriptures. But the fact of the matter remains that the belief in the so-called deity of Christ is not at all biblical…

From the Son of God to God the Son (How Christ came to be believed as God)

CONSTANTINE THE GREAT, the first emperor of Rome to identify himself as “Christian,” stepped in to settle the Arian dispute. His intention was anything but religious. He was not after the truth but the stability of his empire. His politically motivated action had corrupted the pure teaching about the Christ of the Gospels…

Did God Become a Man?

WHETHER THE LORD Jesus Christ is God or not is one of the frequent subjects of discussions about Him. Among the proponents of the Jesus-is-God doctrine is a church that claims apostolicity or continuity of the Church established by Christ in the first century…

“Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant.
