The Apostasy
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves…
“Then they will hand you over to be tortured and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.”
“…for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians]…” (Mathew 7:15, 24:9 NSRV; II Thessalonians 2:3 AB, Emphasis Mine)
The Great Apostasy
AFTER THE DEATH of Jesus Christ and His Apostles, the Apostasy took place. Christians were hunted down, persecuted, and killed, causing the church to drift from the original teachings of Christ and His Apostles. False teachings emerged, leading to the contamination of the pure doctrine. With the Apostles no longer around to defend the truth, the Church Of Christ evolved into a different organization, adopting many pagan rituals and deviating from the pristine gospel established by Christ. This era is known as the “Great Apostasy.”
The Great Apostasy led to the transformation and change of the Church of Christ, gradually becoming the Catholic church, which later gave birth and rise to the Protestant faith, both of which continued to hold conflicting and unbiblical doctrines. Many sought the truth during this time but were unable to find it. Despite their belief in God and Jesus Christ, they did not have access to the pristine gospel truth. Consequently, each generation inherited a deeper state of apostasy, perpetuating changes to Christ’s gospel. This topic will be addressed in the following posts below:

“Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured.”
