The Wrong Doctrines Spawned by The Belief That Christ Is God

WHEN CATHOLIC authorities invented the doctrine that Christ is God at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD (Theologia or The Doctrine of God by Revere Franklin Weidner, D. D., LL. D. p. 59), it paved the way for other erroneous doctrines to creep in. It became a matter of course because in bolstering a fabricated doctrine, the only option was to weave a string of more falsehoods. What deceptions did Catholic authorities spin after inventing the Christ-is-God dogma? And what biblical doctrines do such erroneous doctrines contradict?

MARY: MOTHER OF GOD?

In teaching that Jesus Christ is God, what made-up doctrines concerning Mary, the mother of Jesus, did Catholic authorities come up with? In the book The Creed, written by Nun Maria Veritas Grau, this is recorded:
77. Why is the Blessed Virgin Having fabricated the belief that Christ Mary the Mother of God?
The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of God because Jesus, her Son, is God.” (The Creed, Ma. Veritas Grau, D.S.P. [Revised Ed.], Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines: Daughters of St. Paul Publication 1984, p. 111, Emphasis Mine)
Catholics are taught that Mary is the “Mother of God.” However, what do Catholic authorities themselves admit in relation to this teaching? In a book entitled Fundamentals of Mariology, this is written:
“The Bible nowhere uses the expression ‘Mother of God.’ It refers to Mary as ‘the mother of Jesus’ and ‘the mother of the Lord’.”
(Reference: Fundamentals of Mariology by Carol B. Juniper O.F.M, Imprimi Potest: Celsus Wheeler, O.F.M, Nihil obstat: John A. Goodwine, J.C.D., Imprimatur: Francis Cardinal Spellman Archbishop, Pub. 1956, p. 37, Emphasis Mine)
By their own admission, the expression “Mother of God” is “nowhere” in the Bible. Why is it a false belief that Mary is the “Mother of God”? In the Bible, this is recorded:
God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent…”
(Reference: Num. 23:19 New King James Version, Emphasis Mine)
God is not a “son of man” or a human being. He is the Creator of all things and has no beginning or end, He is everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2). Hence, teaching that God has a mother is wrong and in contradiction with God’s teachings in the Bible.

CHRIST: GOD-MAN?

Having fabricated the belief that Christ is God, Catholic authorities went on to teach that Christ has two natures. From a Catholic book titled The Teaching of Christ, this is what we can read:
Q. 5 How did the Son of God become man?
“The Church teaches that He became man by taking to Himself a human nature like ours. This event is known as the Incarnation, a word of Latin derivation, which means literally entering-into-flesh.
Q. 8 When the Son became man did He then cease to be God?
“God can never cease to be God. In assuming our human nature, therefore, the Son began to be man while continuing to be God; He became man in addition to remaining God.
Q. 9 Does Jesus Christ, then, have two natures?
“Christ possesses two natures: divine nature and human nature. He is both God and man.”
(Reference: This is Catholicism by Walsh, S.J., Imprimi Potest: James E. Coleran, S.J., Nihil Obstat: Alfred R. Julien, J.C.D., Imprimatur: Ricard Cardinal Cushing Archbishop, Pub. 1959 pp. 187-188, Emphasis Mine)
In consonance with their doctrine of Incarnation, Catholic authorities claim that Jesus is both God and man. This, too, is an erroneous doctrine. When did they formulate this teaching? Another Catholic book reveals this:
4. General Council of Chalcedon, 451…
“This council taught that although Jesus Christ is God and man, He is but one Person, that is, one Person in two natures, one divine and one human.”
(Reference: The Teaching of Christ A Catholic Catechism For Adults, Nihil Obstat: Reverend Joseph J. Kleppner, S.T.L., Ph.D Censor Librorum, Imprimatur: Most Reverend William J. Winter, V.G., S.T.D. Bishop, Pub. 1976-2005, p. 505, Emphasis Mine)
The Catholic Church fabricated the doctrine that Christ has “two natures, one divine and one human” only in the fifth century. Why did they have to invent yet another falsehood? Based on the Bible, does God allow that man be both man and God at the same time?
“Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God.”
(Reference: Ezek. 28:2 King James Version, Emphasis Mine)

Clearly, God is against the belief that a man can be both man and God at the same time. Does God accede to the idea that He is God and man at the same time? In Hosea 11:9, God Himself answers us:

“I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, The Holy One in your midst…”
(Reference: Hosea 11:9 NKJV, Emphasis Mine)
God is not man. And man is not God. The Bible does not teach of a God-man. Catholic authorities turned a blind eye to these teachings. Having fabricated the teaching that Christ is God, they went the extra mile by declaring another erroneous doctrine: that Christ is both God and man.

DID GOD DIE ON THE CROSS?

Having stubbornly upheld the fabricated teaching that Christ is God, what other teaching did the Catholic Church come up with? They say that God died:
“Because Jesus is one Person who lives in two distinct natures, one can truthfully say of the Son of God whatever is true of Him in either of His natures. He suffered and died in His human nature, and He is God, and so we may say that God suffered and died.”
(Reference: The Teaching of Christ A Catholic Catechism For Adults, Nihil Obstat: Reverend Joseph J. Kleppner, S.T.L., Ph.D Censor Librorum, Imprimatur: Most Reverend William J. Winter, V.G., S.T.D. Bishop, Pub. 1976-2005, p. 83, Emphasis Mine)

Having proclaimed that Christ is God, Catholic authorities had to also declare that “God suffered and died.” Could this be true? Far from it! This is what Apostle Paul says:

“Now to the King eternal, IMMORTAL, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
(Reference: I Tim. 1:17 NKJV, Emphasis Mine)
God is immortal. It was not He Who died on the cross. Who was it then? The Bible has this to say:
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.”
(Reference: I Cor. 15:3 NKJV, Emphasis Mine)
It was Christ Who died on the cross and not God. The mere fact that Christ succumbed to death proves that He is not God because God is immortal.
Clearly then, the Catholics invented teaching that Christ is God has only paved the way for them to believe in more falsehoods: Mary is the Mother of God; Christ has two natures; and that God died.

TO AVOID ERRORS, EMBRACE THE TRUTH

As to why people end up wallowing in falsehoods, the Bible has this to say:
“… they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false.”
(Reference: II Thess. 2:10-11 Good News Bible, Emphasis Mine)

People are responsible ― and accountable ― for making the choice between falsehood and truth. Having learned about the erroneous doctrines that the Catholic Church had to invent and perpetuate after formulating the unbiblical belief that Christ is God, people should ask: What is the truth concerning the Lord Jesus Christ? The Savior answers:

“But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God…”
(Reference: John 8:40 NKJV, Emphasis Mine)

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself said that He is man. He is not God. He is not God-man. What all the more proves the falsehood of the belief that Christ is God? In I Timothy 2:5, this is recorded:

“For there is ONE God and ONE Mediator BETWEEN God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus.”
(Reference: I Timothy 2:5 NKJV, Emphasis Mine)
According to Apostle Paul, there is “one God.” Is He Christ? No ― “the Man Christ Jesus” is the “one Mediator BETWEEN God and men.” Since Christ cannot be God, who then is the “one God” that the Bible mentions? In John 17:1 and 3, the Bible enlightens us thus:
“After Jesus had said this, he looked up to heaven and said, “Father…
And this is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent — Jesus the Messiah.”
(Reference: John 17:1,3 ISV, Emphasis Mine)
This is the truth: The Father is the only one true God. This truth was taught by Christ Himself and was upheld by His apostles. Catholic authorities thought it wise to reject this. In them, the words of the Apostle Paul came true: “they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.”
Yet hope remains. Reject the falsehoods. Welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.

IN CONCLUSION

1

The Father is the only one true God. This truth was taught by Christ Himself and was upheld by His apostles. Catholic authorities thought it wise to reject this. In them, the words of the Apostle Paul came true: “they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.”

In the first century, the true Church of Christ completely apostatized and gradually became the Catholic Church. For this reason, it is not surprising to encounter many different conflicting teachings and doctrines produced by her, later giving birth and rise to the many other protestant faiths and churches that branched off from her, all claiming to contain the true teachings of Christ that can lead people towards their salvation. Consequently, all these religions have adopted various tainted and corrupted teachings from the Catholic Church, such as the “Trinity” doctrine, the “faith alone” concept, and many other corrupted man-made doctrines.
This alarming truth should not be ignored. It is vital to one’s internal soul to listen to the invitation of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) to learn the pristine doctrines taught by Christ and His apostles, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures as they were taught and practiced in the first-century church. There is only one true church established by Christ. This church, the Church Of Christ, was biblically prophesized to emerge once again in these last days to restore the true teachings of Christ and to introduce the one true God through our Lord Jesus Christ. With the restoration of the true Church of Christ, people once again have the opportunity to render the proper worship to God that is pleasing before Him to attain eternal life.
To gain a deeper understanding of what happened to the first-century Church Of Christ and how it evolved into becoming the Catholic Church and then eventually giving birth to other religions and protestant organizations that inherited various false doctrines, follow the link below:

The Apostasy

AFTER THE DEATH of Jesus Christ and His Apostles, the Apostasy took place. Christians were hunted down, persecuted, and killed, causing the church to drift from the original teachings of Christ and His Apostles. False teachings emerged, leading to the contamination of the pure doctrine. With the Apostles no longer around to defend the truth, the Church Of Christ evolved into a different organization ( the Catholic Church), adopting many pagan rituals and deviating from the pristine gospel established by Christ. This era is known as the “Great Apostasy.”

The Truth about God and Jesus Christ

SUPPORTERS OF THE BELIEF in the divinity of Christ, also known as the Christ-is-God or the God-man doctrine, assert that God exists as a trinity consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Although they are three in nature and considered distinct beings, proponents maintain that they form a single God. The concept of the Trinity lacks explicit biblical endorsement; thus, proponents often argue that it represents a profound mystery beyond human comprehension and should be accepted by faith alone.
